servicecontrol

servicecontrol is a non-interactive command-line program that communicates with the MD Link service. It provides similar functionality as the MD Link Monitor, but using a command-line interface instead of a GUI. Hence it is useful for batch or automated uses, to redirect output to files, or occasionally to fulfill a need that the MD Link Monitor does not.

Many different commands are available within servicecontrol. To run it, go to the Start Menu > MD Link > Command Prompt, or navigate to MD Link's bin directory in a command shell. Then typing servicecontrol (or on Unix: ./servicecontrol.sh) will run the program. The documentation for servicecontrol is self-contained within the program itself, so simply running the program will display the documentation for it.

In MD Link 6.8 and earlier, servicecontrol was called mdlinkctl.
